Changes to Set Works in
2020
In
2020 several changes are being introduced to the Set Works component for Grades
5 and 6 in both Theory of Music and Musicianship syllabuses.
These
changes apply to both online and paper-based exams and are outlined in their
entirety below.
To
find out more about our paper-based exams, which are now available throughout
the year, please contact your local state office.
When are the changes
taking place?
· 2020 format exams will
be available for purchase from the 1st of January 2020. Exams purchased in 2020
can only use the 2020 syllabus.
· Any candidate who
purchased an online exam in 2019 will be examined on the 2019 syllabus, unless
they contact the AMEB federal office to request to be transferred to the 2020
syllabus. Candidates who are being examined on the 2019 syllabus will have 12
months from the date of purchase to complete that exam.
Please
note that:
· Any candidate who
purchased an Online Exam for one of the affected grades in 2019 will not be
automatically switched to the 2020 syllabus format.
· Extensions for 2019 syllabus
exams will not be permitted past 31st December 2020.
What resources are
available?
Candidates
who purchase any of AMEB's online exams are given unlimited attempts at our
online practice exams. Practice exams for the 2020 syllabus are now available.
Additionally,
AMEB is providing:
· SAMPLE PAPERS: PDF
sample papers are now available for each grade that feature new set works.
These can be accessed via this page for Theory of Music, and this page for
